J has been wearing her big sister shirt since Saturday! At least she’ll take it off to sleep so we can wash it for her! (Although she doesn’t want it washed, so we’ve had to be careful to put it back where she took it off)

We came home from the hospital today and my mom brought J home from Kelowna to meet C. J is over the moon and in love with this little bundle. You can’t really see it, but tucked under J’s arm is a pink and white puppy so that C can have her very own Woof!

Our baby bean arrived at 12:46 this morning…she teased us for about ten days and gave us a few scares and last night the doctor decided it was time. She’s here. She’s healthy. Her lungs work. We’re exhausted. We’re happy. J is in Kelowna. And the baby girl does not have a name yet…but she’s here!

I realized that I have no idea where the newborn socks are and no non-pink tiny clothes with feet…I didn’t feel like wandering around trying to find newborn socks, so I whipped up these tiny booties. I’m not sure if they will fit…they told me last week Boxing Bean is over 7lbs now…

Woof is a very important part of J’s life…she’s been taking him to daycare with her lately, but sometimes forgets him and that causes some bedtime trauma, so I’ve been “taking him to work” with me. She wanted photographic proof. So here he is working at my desk.

One of the many reasons my parents took J home with them for a week was to give us a break and some time to get ready for baby without a special helper helping us. We got a few things done this week, including sorting the baby clothes. I had packed everything of J’s away when the bottom drawer in the dresser would no longer hold outgrown clothing…which meant nothing was sorted by size. I spend most of the day today sorting into size and into piles of neutral and girl clothing…because we still don’t know what is growing inside me.

J has gone to my parents’ house for the week – she left yesterday after the birthday gathering and is coming back on the weekend. She picked out some daffodils on Saturday at the store but they hadn’t opened when she left…now they are in full bloom so of course I had to take a picture so that she could see them when she gets back (because they’ll be long gone by then!)

Baby is moving in to our room which means we lose our desk (just to the left of the picture) so Alex and I spent today cleaning, sorting and tossing stuff so that we can give baby a place for its bed and its clothing. J was a huge helper. It turns out she likes to dust.
