Empty Except For Some Baby Toys

We are moving in five days…this week was a write off as I was down with the flu, but next week we should get something done as I’m starting to feel better, Alex is off and we’ve got a nanny coming Saturday and Sunday. I have an amazing friend helping us out today too…I’m so grateful for the help!

Snow

We woke up this morning and the tree looked like this!!

And then we walked to school and it looked like this! (Someone is happy for the snow but also because it’s the last day of school)

A small person at home thought the snow was pretty amazing too!

And she got a very special, personalized blanket in the mail today from a very special friend of mine.

The Postcard Place

Baby C and I went to Granville Island this morning for coffee and a treat…and I may have visited the Postcard Place. Although, note to self, most stuff doesn’t open until 10:00 am…good thing the coffee place was open!

Holiday Cozy

What a lovely night! We had a family gathering at my great-aunt and uncle’s Doesn’t it look cozy? There were about 30 of us squished quite comfortably into about 600 square feet. So lovely. AND Alex arrived for the weekend. Happy happy at our house!

Lullaby

Baby C and I go to the library most Fridays for baby time. The children’s librarian made up a lullaby for her baby and C loves it, but of course I can only ever remember the first verse. Today, she posted all of the verses so we can all sing the lullaby at home with our babies.

Finger Knitting

J has been asking for wool to do some finger knitting, so we wandered up to the craft store and got some wool. She also begged for her own set of knitting needles, but that has just been an exercise in frustration for the poor kid. We’ll give it some time (and maybe get some bigger needles and chunkier wool) and try again. For now she’ll just make miles of curly, four stitch strands…

Mini Orchids

Because our apartment is for sale, there are flowers all over the place. It’s been a bit of a treat because we usually only have flowers for special occasions. And never in the bathrooms – there are these tiny orchids in our bathroom, some pretty orange flowers in J and C’s bathroom, a fall bouquet in the living room and a lantern flower plant beside the fire place. Sometimes there is even a bouquet in our bedroom.  I like these orchids the best…and because they’re potted they’ll stick around even after our place sells…at least until I accidently kill them!

Baby With A Baby

Baby C is obsessed with other babies. She was thrilled when she found J’s Baby Alice in the toy basket. She loves to give her hugs and (very wet) kisses. It’s pretty cute.
