Cousins

We went out to Abbotsford today so that Baby J could meet her great-aunt and cousin Dion. Until I held Baby J, Dion was the youngest baby I ever held. He was one day old.

Thumb Sucking

Baby J found her thumb and has now been pretty much sleeping through the night! Today she was chatting away to me while I was on the phone and then she stopped. I looked down, and there she was, sound asleep with her thumb in her mouth. I guess we have a thumb sucker!

Whack

Baby J has been spending a lot of time in the last few days grabbing onto things and moving them - toys, blankets, her soother. She has also figured out how to bat things - the toys on the toy jungle and the toys on the bouncy chair...she's great to watch, but I don't think she's quite figured out that it's her hands that are making the things move!

Finally Hanging

I took this picture this morning. I got this painting as a gift five years ago from Rebecca and it's finally hanging on the wall. For the first time ever. But it's not there anymore...we came home tonight to find it on the ground so the search for stronger hangers resumes!

Big Girl Bath

Baby J graduated from the sink in the bathroom to an infant tub today. She loved her baths in the sink, but screamed the whole time in the tub.

Fridge Soup

Yummy...fridge soup! Doesn't sound good, but fridge soup is the best - the broth is made from whatever good, but sad looking, vegetables are left in the back of the fridge. This time though, it really should be called deck soup since it was mostly made with the last of the Kelowna vegetables that have been living on the deck since Thanksgiving. The pink tint is from one lone beet.

Tummy Time Is Hard Work!

Baby J is hot and cold when it comes to tummy time. Tonight she chatted with the blue pony for a bit and then, in the blink of an eye, she was sound asleep!

Again today Baby J spent quite a while checking out her feet. Today she had mousies on the toes of her sleeper.

Baby J has discovered in the last few days that she has feet. She made the discovery after a bath and was amazed by her little toes. Then today we put these Pooh Bear booties on her feet and she just wanted to stare at them!

Almost Got A Smile

Baby J is super smiley these days, but I have yet to capture a real smile that isn't blurred by rapid head movements of some sort. This is the closest to an unblurry smile in the last few days.
