New Scarf

I made a baby blanket out of this wool to send to a friend in the fall. J wanted that blanket more than anything and I promised her that when I have time, I will get some more of that wool and make her a kid-sized version of the blanket…in the meantime I realized there was enough wool left that I could make something for her. She was SO excited to find this scarf waiting for her before school this morning.

Now that she’s on the move, she tends to take the hard way places, especially if it means it’s faster!

Lullaby

Baby C and I go to the library most Fridays for baby time. The children’s librarian made up a lullaby for her baby and C loves it, but of course I can only ever remember the first verse. Today, she posted all of the verses so we can all sing the lullaby at home with our babies.

Going to kindergarten has done wonders for J’s confidence on the playground. Not long ago, she was nervous around the fireman’s pole and would only go down with help…now she’s happy to do it on her own!

Shiny New Car

We just barely made it here on Friday…the transmission in our car went as we pulled into the boarding school parking lot. The cost to fix the transmission relative to the actual value of the car made it a bit silly to fix, so we opted to go home in a new to us, bigger than our reliable little car mini mini-van. We’ll miss the little car, but it was time to move into something bigger now that we have two kids and one wants to have friends come over and three carseats/boosters don’t fit in the back of a sedan.

Science World And The Dentist

I had to keep J home today because she had a dentist appointment.

Because it would have been an excruciatingly long day otherwise, we started out with a trip to Science World this morning.

J did really well at the dentist. She got to hold the vacuum sucker thing herself.

Here’s how my little lady came home today…she has stopped wearing her big sister shirt all the time, now that a friend of mine sent her a very special big sister card that came with a button.

One of the teachers brough coloured tape to school today…J came home with it wrapped around her hands and wrists and one piece on the front of her neck as a “necklace.”

Counting Pennies

My mom and I took J to the park and she had a great time climbing in the fountain (it’s drained for the winter). She was particularly excited to find some pennies the workers missed when they cleaned it out in the fall.

Today the daycare had a special holiday brunch for the kids and their families. All the kids got personalized mittens and the parents got special ornaments that their kids made. This is J's. She is pretty excited to hang it on the tree (which is not yet up).
