Now that we have moved the crib into J’s room, she has lost a lot of her space to hang out. She discovered that her chair fit perfectly in her closet and she can hide away from everything in there…so, until we have three bedrooms, this is J’s special space!

Pizza Night

A couple of times a month we have pizza night on Saturday nights. J helps choose the toppings, I make the dough and we all get to top our own pizzas. Tonight J’s pizza has a snowman with arms and legs on it.

Hot Apple Deliciousness

I managed to start the new year with bronchitis. I was given the usual prescription of lots of rest, lots of fluids and lots of hot steam. But I got to the point where I couldn’t drink anymore tea or water or juice. So, we put a pot on the stove, added 3 cups of apple juice, 1 cup of water, 1 cinnamon stick, four cloves, a couple of slices of ginger and a few wide zests of lemon (the last three ingredients are in a tea bag). I let it simmer and we kept it on low for a while and just added more apple juice and water (in a 3:1 ratio) all afternoon. Yummy…and I felt better too!

Yesterday J got a package of puppets from her advent calendar. She and her babysitter put some of them together last night - that's her little hand clutching those popsicle sticks.

Alex and I drove to Manning Park yesterday and met my parents and J at one of the cabins at the resort. We're here for a nice long weekend to celebrate my cousin Amy's wedding. This afternoon we piled into the car and went to the lake for a little canoe (Well, they did. I sat in a comfy chair at the shore and read my book. Bliss!)

Good Sport

J has been very patient over the last few days - her mom hasn't been a lot of fun. I did go to work today but I was sooooooooo tired when I got home that J had her dinner and we retreated to my room where I dozed and J read and took some lovely pictures with my phone (this is one - her books on the bed)

We tried a new Jamie Oliver recipe tonight with salmon we picked up at Granville Island yesterday. J is a salmon lover and it was nice to find a recipe that she'd eat that was more than just a hunk of salmon.

Doubly Connected

We're trying out a different internet provider's internet service...so, for the time being, we have two routers in our house...and one computer. Makes total sense. Doesn't it?
