We bought a 4.0 gig memory card for the camera before we went to Europe and it came with this super gadget - click the card in to the reader and it will plug into any USB port. Which meant we didn't need to fiddle with unknown computers and their settings to save pictures when we were gone.
It also means that when you put the USB cable in a "safe" place and then can't remember where the "safe" place is, you can still get the pictures off the camera and into the computer. Like today.
