We Did It!

Ignore the sweatshirt in the foreground and the toys on the floor, but with the pillows from the other day set on the couch, we are ready for the first showing of our Lyons’ Den. Yesterday I wasn’t sure we’d get here, but after a few trips to Home Depot, Home Outfitters and Save On and a bunch of trips to storage, we’re ready!

Tomorrow’s the big day…and it turned out to be bigger than we thought…can we get this place finished in time????

An Apple A Day…

Things are pretty low key at our house right now as the first sick of the year grabbed hold pretty hard. This is a typical evening…J on one end of the couch, me on the other, cozied up under the blanket.

Peekaboo

Baby C was playing peekaboo with me this afternoon…this picture is weird because it’s a still from a video…apparently I only took videos today. Her version of peekaboo is pretty funny. She smashes her face into the blanket and then lifts her head up and laughs when you say “Where’s C?”

Going to kindergarten has done wonders for J’s confidence on the playground. Not long ago, she was nervous around the fireman’s pole and would only go down with help…now she’s happy to do it on her own!

Just like J, Baby C LOVES the butterfly. Today she figured out how to make it go like a steering wheel (not that she has the first clue about steering wheels…)

Density

We spent the afternoon at Science World today. It was a lot of fun. This exhibit had to do with urban density. J had a great time crawling around in it.

Baby Meets Jellies

It may be the first week of school, but J is still only going half days, so today we hit the aquarium. Baby C had never been before and she seemed to enjoy the jellies…and then she fell asleep. Maybe it was a bit overwhelming???

Community Garden

J’s school borders this park and the community garden proposal includes a teaching area – very exciting! (Oh, and the nice weather is back…I had to come home and change after I dropped J off because I was soaked to the skin yesterday…I really am not looking forward to a wet winter.)

First Day Of Kindergarten

J was pretty excited to head off to kindergarten this morning. After some wonderful weather, we woke up to a very wet, very Vancouver morning.

But, my little Wet Coaster (yes, wet, not west) looks like she’s set!!
