Something Not Pink

Also known as something blue.

When we were in Kelowna a few weeks ago, I did some of Baby J's laundry and my mom remarked on how almost everything she owned was pink (with a smattering of white and yellow). J does have some clothes that are purple and green, but they're in a bigger size and we're not there yet. So, my mom brought this little outfit down for her for Easter. Except, well, I think it's too big and will go in the same pile as the purple and green stuff! But is it cute!

End Of A Beautiful Day!

Today was spectacular! Just beautiful and so warm. Baby J and I walked to yoga and then home and then in the afternoon we met up with J's aunties for iced coffees in the park. Baby J really needs a sun hat - she had to keep her toque on her sensitive little head even though it was warm out...I guess that's a project for the weekend!

Okay, not really. Baby J doesn't sleep with toys...we follow the rules! But when she wakes up, sometimes she gets to play in her crib and then we give her toys. Oh, and she's not there alone, we're with her...

New Wallet

I've needed a new wallet for a very long time. I finally picked this one up a couple of weeks ago. I really like it! The only problem is that with all the rewards/discount cards out there and all the other plastic I need to carry with me, it's already full. The good thing is, I can't fill it up with receipts!

Getting Big

When Baby J came home from the hospital, we put her next to this hippo and she was so tiny. Now she's almost as long as it!

Afternoon With Daddy

I went out for the afternoon today and when I came home I could hear happy Baby J sounds at the other end of the hallway. When I got in the front door I discovered the source of the happiness...food! Baby J loves eating and will often talk right through a meal!

Baby J loves her giraffe that she got for Christmas from her auntie, uncle and cousins. It's good to play with AND to chew on!

Crawling Backwards

I'm sure that forward motion will soon be mastered, but for the time being, Baby J getting very good at motoring backwards. Very frustrated, but very good!

Baby J was quite interested in what Alex was up to on the phone this afternoon. She hasn't figured out the phone yet - she does look around when she hears the voice on the other end, but then she tries to lick the key pad or chew on the microphone piece.

Singing In Her Bouncy Seat

Baby J was happy to hang out in her bouncy seat tonight. Since she's now fairly mobile, finding ways to "contain" her is interesting...she wants to explore! She's grown a lot since she got the bouncy seat too!

Baby J got this adorable Lolli-doll from a friend just before we left Kelowna to come home. Which explains the absence of soggy limbs...she hasn't had a chance to chomp on it much yet!

The Baby In The Mirror

Baby J has a new game she's been playing with the baby in the mirror - kiss the baby...she just needs to be careful she doesn't throw her head forward to hard cause it hurts a bit to bump "heads" with the baby in the mirror! It sure was nice of cousin Sophia to help her!

Baby J has had enough of the Jolly Jumper...she got moved around the house quite a bit today as we were all bustling around trying to get ready. Not easy to get seven people and a baby out of the house at the same time...

Little Lady

This is my night light from when I was a kid. I used until I was, oh, sixteen maybe? It didn't go to boarding school with me, but in all likelihood, I probably used it up until the night before I left...her arm and the bird perched on her arm ALWAYS fell off...they're waiting to be reglued again and they're wrapped in the white tissue to the side.

Reading Hug

Baby J's K-town grandparents came to visit today and brought her a book we had left behind at Christmas. She was pretty excited (mostly because is was a book and she loves books) and Alex was excited because it's his favourite book to read to Baby J.

We set up the mat under the Jolly Jumper today. Baby J LOVED it! It plays music whenever her feet hit the centre part and it didn't take her long to figure that out!

Baby J got dressed up today to go to the christening of a friend's little boy. And when she got home, she hung out in her little dress and played with Daddy for a while.

Distorted View Of The Living Room

This mirror is for the car so we can see Baby J from the front seat even though she's facing away from us. We haven't taken the car out since we picked it up the other day, so it's been propped next to Baby J's play area and she's had a great time babbling to the baby in the mirror. I noticed it's a convex mirror, so things are a bit distorted.

Contemplating The Jolly Jumper

Baby J tried out the Jolly Jumper for the first time this morning. She wasn't quite sure how to make it work. There was a lot of arm flapping and not a lot of jumping, but I'm sure she'll get the hang of it soon!

Project Complete

This was a joint project between me and my mom. I started it ages ago and it was for Baby J when she was born. Well, she's been born for a long time now! Oh well, it's a lighter weight than most of her blankets, so it will be good for summer.

How Did I Get Here?

Baby J has been able to hang out a bit on her hands and knees, but she's still not sure how she got there or if she likes it! Soon after this, she kind of collapsed onto her tummy.

Eyelashes

My kid has the longest eyelashes I've ever seen. They actually curl up and touch her brow bone. I'm not sure where they came from - neither one of us has eyelashes like that!
