We won! Hockey Gold for Canada. Most gold medals in a winter games, ever, for Canada. Oh it was amazing having the Olympics here! And the crowds were out celebrating. This is the corner of Burrard and Robson.
This is the closest we're going to get to a gold medal hockey game. It was exciting just the same and J clapped and cheered so loud (not sure she understands what she's cheering for yet, but she's excited to cheer!)
I'm not sure about this window in a gallery on Granville Street. I really think it looks like the woman is trying to pull the man's head off and the man is trying to throw her backwards from the ankle...
A whole loaf of banana bread is too big for us and I keep thinking I should invest in some of those half sized loaf pans but I keep forgetting. I also keep forgetting that I DO have this mini loaf tin...but I remembered today. I made one recipe of banana bread which made eight perfect sized mini loaves - half with and half without chocolate chips. MMMmmmmmm...
Even though I told her she didn't have to go to bed after her bath, J didn't believe me and wouldn't let me put her jammies on in case I snuck her into bed. She played like this for quite a while before she got cold and brought her jammies to me! Her new favourite place to play is in the Bumbo with the tray and her farm animals. She is slightly large for the Bumbo these days!
J fell asleep in the stroller on her way home with Alex today...doesn't look too comfortable, but we covered her with her blanket and draped a dark cover over the stroller and she slept for over an hour. Like that. And she would have slept longer except I woke her up because I want to sleep tonight!
We can see the lasers from our house - J spent a long time watching them tonight before we closed the blinds the first time. They are a neat project - the public gets to design laser shows through the Vectorial Elevation website.
We went to see Alex's parents this afternoon and they took us out for lunch. J had IHOP for the first time and she loved it! She almost grabbed her plate our of the server's hands and she wanted to help Grandpa eat his too!
So, normally the slow cooker gets turned on just as I go out the door to work...not so much today. It was a bit of a crazy morning with Alex starting a new shift and needing to be out of the house by 6:40. Slowed me down a bit...will need to get used to the new routine.
Anyway, a bit like needing to use the ground beef up last night, we needed to cook the chicken tonight. I figured if I put it in the slow cooker at bedtime and I get just under 8 hours sleep, I can turn it off when I get up and cool it and dinner will be ready when we get home from work...we'll just have to reheat it.
