Auntie Rebecca came over to visit tonight and brought J a rainbow bird mobile for her room.

Dentist

Today was J's first real dentist appointment. She had been once before when she was about 18 months old and they just got her to open her mouth and the dentist did some gentle prodding.

Today she actually had her teeth cleaned. I went first so she could see that it wasn't scary and then she went.

Her cleaning was much more civilized than mine...she didn't have anyone climbing all over her!

Success

My first loaf of bread maker bread was only so-so. This loaf was perfect. It was a straight whole wheat loaf - the other was supposed to have nuts and fruit in it...but that's a long story...I made a 2lb loaf and I wouldn't do that again - there wasn't quite enough room in the basket for it. But it's good. Even thought it took 4 1/2 hours to make...YUM!

Small Slow Cooker

I have a big slow cooker, but there are so many things that I like to make that need a smaller pot, either because they don't cook well in the big pot or we just can't eat THAT MUCH of whatever it is...so today J and I went and got a smaller slow cooker...we'll see how it does.

Almost Christmas

I dug around in our storage room tonight and got out our cards for Christmas. They'll sit around collecting dust for a few weeks, but maybe I'll actually get them out before Christmas Eve this year.

Goodbye old friend

See the crack...my almost daily companion coffee cup met its end this morning. My helper was carrying too many things and it crashed to the concrete floor. It was on its last legs and that fall did it in. Ah well, time for a new cup.

Bread Making Semi-Fail

This is the first loaf to come out of our bread maker...it had some issues. But I will try again. For sure.

Ice Cream Treat

J has been asking to go back to Granville Island for ice cream for a while...instead, we took her to DQ tonight and she loved it!
